Banyuwangi Regency
Banyuwangi Regency is a regency (Indonesian: Kabupaten) located at the easternmost end of Java Island in Indonesia. It is the largest regency in East Java province and is known for its diverse cultural heritage and rich natural resources. The regency's capital is Banyuwangi.

Banyuwangi Regency is bordered by the Bali Strait to the east, the Indian Ocean to the south, and the Java Sea to the north. It shares its western border with Jember Regency and Bondowoso Regency. The regency covers an area of approximately 5,782.50 square kilometers.

The history of Banyuwangi Regency is closely tied to the Majapahit Kingdom, one of the last major Hindu empires of the region. The regency was later part of the Mataram Sultanate, and then the Dutch East Indies during the colonial period.

The economy of Banyuwangi Regency is primarily based on agriculture, with coffee, rubber, and cacao being the main crops. The regency is also known for its fishery sector and has a growing tourism industry, thanks to its natural beauty and cultural attractions.

Banyuwangi Regency is home to the Osing people, who have a unique culture that is a blend of Javanese and Balinese influences. The regency is also known for its traditional music and dance, such as Gandrung and Seblang.

Banyuwangi Regency is divided into several districts, each headed by a Camat. The regency is governed by a Regent (Bupati), who is elected by the people for a five-year term.
