Barbara F. Atkinson
Barbara F. Atkinson is an American pathologist and academic administrator. She has made significant contributions to the field of medicine and has held various leadership positions in medical education and healthcare administration.

Barbara F. Atkinson was born in city, state. She completed her undergraduate studies at university and earned her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She completed her residency in pathology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Academic Positions[edit | edit source]
Atkinson began her academic career as a faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania. She later joined the University of Kansas Medical Center, where she served as the Executive Vice Chancellor and Executive Dean of the School of Medicine. During her tenure, she was instrumental in expanding the medical school and enhancing its research capabilities.

In 2011, Atkinson was appointed as the Founding Dean of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Medicine. She played a crucial role in establishing the medical school, developing its curriculum, and recruiting faculty and students. Under her leadership, the school received preliminary accreditation from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education.
