- Barranquitas is a small, inland town and municipality in Puerto Rico, located in the central region of the island, north of Coamo; south of Corozal; southeast of Orocovis; and west of Cidra and Comerío. Barranquitas is spread over 6 barrios and Barranquitas Pueblo (the downtown area and the administrative center of the city). It is part of the San Juan-Caguas-Guaynabo Metropolitan Statistical Area.

- Barranquitas was founded in 1803 by Antonio Aponte de Toro. The city is historically known for being the birthplace of illustrious Puerto Rican politicians, poets, and statesmen.
