Bethany Hall-Long
Bethany Hall-Long is an American politician and nurse who has served as the Lieutenant Governor of Delaware since January 17, 2017. She is a member of the Democratic Party.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Bethany Hall-Long was born in Delaware. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Thomas Jefferson University and her Master of Science in Nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina. She later received her Ph.D. in health policy and nursing administration from George Mason University.

Nursing and Academia[edit | edit source]
Before entering politics, Hall-Long worked as a nurse and an academic. She has been a professor at the University of Delaware, where she has focused on health policy, community health, and nursing administration.
Political Career[edit | edit source]
Hall-Long began her political career in the Delaware House of Representatives, where she served from 2003 to 2009. She then served in the Delaware Senate from 2009 to 2017. During her tenure in the state legislature, she focused on issues such as healthcare, education, and the environment.
In 2016, Hall-Long was elected as the Lieutenant Governor of Delaware. As Lieutenant Governor, she has worked on initiatives related to public health, substance abuse, and mental health.

Bethany Hall-Long is married to Dana Long, and they have one son. They reside in Middletown, Delaware.
