Biologicals

Biologicals are usually a drug, or vaccine made from a living product and used medically to diagnose, treat or prevent a medical condition. For example, a flu shot or pneumonia shot. In rheumatology, biologics refers to the new class of drugs such as monoclonal antibodies, and other new drugs used in the treatment of rheumatologic conditions. In other words, biological drugs include antibodies, interleukins, and vaccines.
