Biomet is a company that specializes in the production of orthopedic implants. It was founded in 1977 in Warsaw, Indiana, and has since grown to become one of the global leaders in the medical device industry.

Biomet was founded in 1977 by four entrepreneurs. The company initially focused on the production of screws and plates for orthopedic surgery. Over the years, Biomet expanded its product line to include a wide range of orthopedic implants, including knee replacements, hip replacements, spinal implants, and dental implants.

In 2014, Biomet was acquired by Zimmer Holdings, another leading manufacturer of orthopedic devices. The combined company, known as Zimmer Biomet, is now one of the largest companies in the medical device industry.

Biomet's product line includes a wide range of orthopedic implants. These include:

  • Knee replacements: Biomet produces a variety of knee replacement systems, including the Vanguard Complete Knee System and the Oxford Partial Knee.
  • Hip replacements: Biomet's hip replacement systems include the M2a Magnum Hip System and the Taperloc Hip System.
  • Spinal implants: Biomet's spinal implants include the Polaris Spinal System and the Zephir Anterior Cervical Plate System.
  • Dental implants: Biomet's dental implants include the 3i Dental Implant System and the NanoTite Dental Implant System.
