- Brightwaters is a village located in the town of Islip in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The village is officially known as the Incorporated Village of Brightwaters. The village is situated on Long Island's South Shore, and it is considered a part of the New York metropolitan area.
Geography[edit | edit source]
- Brightwaters is located at 40°43′13″N 73°15′57″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.0 square mile (2.6 km2), of which 0.9 square miles (2.3 km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) is water.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
- As of the census of 2000, there were 3,248 people, 1,127 households, and 882 families residing in the village. The population density was 3,630.0 people per square mile (1,403.6/km2).

- South Shore Health System is a comprehensive healthcare provider offering a wide range of health services to the residents of Brightwaters and the surrounding areas.
- Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center is a 537-bed (including 100 nursing home beds) teaching hospital and a member of Catholic Health Services of Long Island. The medical center, over 100 years old, is located in West Islip.
- Northwell Health is New York State's largest healthcare provider, with 23 hospitals and more than 600 outpatient facilities. They have several facilities in and around Brightwaters.
