Bulmers
Bulmers is a brand of cider produced in Ireland and the United Kingdom. The brand is known for its wide range of cider products and has a significant presence in the alcoholic beverage market.
History[edit | edit source]
Bulmers was originally founded in 1887 by H.P. Bulmer in Hereford, England. The company quickly grew in popularity and became one of the leading cider producers in the UK. In 1935, a separate company, Bulmers Ltd., was established in Clonmel, County Tipperary, Ireland to produce cider for the Irish market. This Irish company is now known as Bulmers Ireland.
Products[edit | edit source]
Bulmers offers a variety of cider products, including:
- Bulmers Original
- Bulmers Pear
- Bulmers Light
- Bulmers Berry
- Bulmers Vintage Reserve
Each product is made using a blend of different apple varieties, which are carefully selected to create a unique and refreshing taste.
Production Process[edit | edit source]
The production of Bulmers cider involves several key steps: 1. **Apple Harvesting**: Apples are harvested from orchards and transported to the production facility. 2. **Pressing**: The apples are washed and pressed to extract the juice. 3. **Fermentation**: The apple juice is fermented using yeast to convert the sugars into alcohol. 4. **Maturation**: The cider is matured for several months to develop its flavor. 5. **Blending and Bottling**: The matured cider is blended to achieve the desired taste and then bottled for distribution.
Market Presence[edit | edit source]
Bulmers is a well-known brand in both the Irish and UK markets. In Ireland, Bulmers is the leading cider brand, while in the UK, it is marketed under the name Magners due to trademark issues.
