Calcutta Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital
Calcutta Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital is a renowned institution in the field of homoeopathy located in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Established in 1881, it is the oldest homoeopathic medical college in Asia and has been a pioneer in homoeopathic education and treatment.

The college was founded by Dr. Pratap Chandra Majumdar and Dr. Mahendra Lal Sircar. Dr. Majumdar was the first Indian to become a homoeopathic physician. The college started with a small dispensary, which gradually grew into a full-fledged medical college.
Courses[edit | edit source]
The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in homoeopathy. The undergraduate course, Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS), is a 5.5-year course including a one-year internship. The postgraduate course, Doctor of Medicine in Homoeopathy (MD (Hom)) is a 3-year course.
Hospital[edit | edit source]
The attached hospital provides homoeopathic treatment to patients. It has various departments such as Medicine, Surgery, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Dermatology, Psychiatry, and Radiology. The hospital also has an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Operation Theatre (OT) facilities.

The college is involved in various research activities in the field of homoeopathy. It has collaborations with various national and international research organizations.
Notable alumni[edit | edit source]
Many notable personalities in the field of homoeopathy have graduated from this college. Some of them include Dr. B.K. Bose, Dr. S.K. Dubey, and Dr. P. Banerjee.
