Cambria County is a county located in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. As of the 2020 census, the population was 133,472. The county seat is Ebensburg. The county was created on March 26, 1804, from parts of Bedford, Huntingdon, and Somerset counties and later organized in 1807. It was named for the nation of Wales, which in Latin is known as "Cambria".

According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 694 square miles (1,800 km²), of which 688 square miles (1,780 km²) is land and 6.1 square miles (16 km²) (0.9%) is water.

Demographics[edit | edit source]
As of the 2020 census, there were 133,472 people, 58,950 households, and 36,000 families residing in the county. The population density was 194 people per square mile (75/km²). The racial makeup of the county was 94.8% White, 3.0% Black or African American, 0.1% Native American, 0.5% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, and 1.6% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.2% of the population.

Cambria County is governed by a board of three county commissioners. The county is part of Pennsylvania's 13th congressional district.

Cambria County is served by several public school districts, private schools, and higher education institutions, including Saint Francis University and University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.
