Catoosa County is a county located in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 67,872. The county seat is Ringgold, and the largest city is Fort Oglethorpe.

Catoosa County was created on December 5, 1853, from parts of Walker and Whitfield counties. The name "Catoosa" is derived from the Cherokee language, meaning "between two hills" or "small mountain".

During the American Civil War, the area was the site of several significant battles, including the Battle of Ringgold Gap. The county's strategic location made it a key area during the war.
