Chicken Shack is a Michigan-based American fast food chain founded in 1956. The chain is known for its chicken, ribs, and seafood dishes.

Chicken Shack was founded by John and Iola Sobeck in 1956. The first location was opened in Royal Oak, Michigan. The Sobecks had previously owned a tavern where they served chicken and ribs. The popularity of their food led them to open a dedicated restaurant.

The menu at Chicken Shack includes a variety of items, including chicken, ribs, seafood, french fries, and coleslaw. The chain is particularly known for its "Chicken Shack Broasted Chicken," which is prepared using a combination of broasting and deep frying.

Locations[edit | edit source]

As of 2021, there are over 20 Chicken Shack locations in the state of Michigan. The majority of these are located in the Detroit metropolitan area.
