Chuck-A-Rama

Chuck-A-Rama is a chain of buffet restaurants based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Founded in 1966 by Don Moss and Adele Moss, the restaurant chain has expanded to include multiple locations across the Intermountain West region of the United States.

History[edit | edit source]

Don Moss and Adele Moss established the first Chuck-A-Rama in 1966. The name "Chuck-A-Rama" is a play on the phrase "chuck wagon," a term used to describe a type of mobile kitchen historically used by cattle herders in the United States. The "Chuck" in Chuck-A-Rama refers to the chuck steak, a cut of beef, and "Rama" suggests a place of abundance or variety.

Menu[edit | edit source]

Chuck-A-Rama offers a wide variety of American cuisine, including roast beef, fried chicken, seafood, and salad. The buffet also features a selection of desserts, including pies, cakes, and soft serve ice cream. The menu changes daily, with special themes for each day of the week.

Locations[edit | edit source]

As of 2021, there are 12 Chuck-A-Rama locations in Utah, Idaho, and Nevada. The original location in Salt Lake City remains operational.

Reception[edit | edit source]

Chuck-A-Rama has been recognized for its commitment to quality food and service. In 2019, it was named "Best Buffet" by the Salt Lake City Weekly.
