The Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) is a congressional caucus within the United States Congress that consists of progressive members of the Democratic Party. The CPC was founded in 1991 by six members of the House of Representatives: Bernie Sanders, Ron Dellums, Lane Evans, Thomas Andrews, Peter DeFazio, Maxine Waters, and Major Owens. The caucus is currently chaired by Pramila Jayapal.

The Congressional Progressive Caucus was established in 1991 to promote progressive policies and represent the interests of the American people in the legislative process. The founding members aimed to create a unified voice for progressive values within Congress, advocating for economic justice, civil rights, and environmental sustainability.

The CPC is one of the largest ideological caucuses in the United States Congress, with over 100 members from the House of Representatives and the Senate. Membership is open to any member of Congress who supports the principles and goals of the caucus.
