Crystal healing
Crystal Healing
Crystal healing is a pseudoscientific alternative medicine technique that employs stones and crystals as healing tools. The proponents of this technique believe that crystals act as conduits for healing, allowing positive energy to flow into the body while negative energy flows out.
History[edit | edit source]
The use of crystals in healing has a long history, with references found in ancient Egyptian and Greek texts. However, the modern practice of crystal healing is largely based on concepts borrowed from the New Age movement, Hinduism, and Buddhism.
Methodology[edit | edit source]
In a typical crystal healing session, the practitioner places various stones or crystals on the client's body aligned with chakras, or places them around the body in an attempt to construct an energy grid, which is purported to surround the client with healing energy. The types of stones selected and the exact placement may be chosen based on the symptoms reported by the client.
Criticism and Scientific View[edit | edit source]
Crystal healing is not recognized as a valid form of treatment by the medical community. Critics argue that any perceived benefits are the result of placebo effect, not the crystals themselves. There is no scientific evidence that crystal healing has any effect on health-related issues.
