Damon Tweedy is an American physician and author. He is best known for his memoir Black Man in a White Coat, which explores the intersection of race and medicine in the United States.

Damon Tweedy was born and raised in Washington, D.C.. He attended Duke University for his undergraduate studies, where he graduated with a degree in public policy. He then went on to attend Duke University School of Medicine, where he earned his M.D. degree.

After completing his medical degree, Tweedy pursued a residency in psychiatry at Duke University Medical Center. He has worked as a practicing psychiatrist and has also held academic positions, including serving as an assistant professor of psychiatry at Duke University School of Medicine.
