David Bruce Cassidy (April 12, 1950 – November 21, 2017) was an American actor, singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He was best known for his role as Keith Partridge in the 1970s musical-sitcom The Partridge Family. This role catapulted Cassidy to teen idol status as a superstar pop singer of the 1970s.

David Cassidy was born in New York City to singer and actor Jack Cassidy and actress Evelyn Ward. His parents divorced when he was young, and he was raised by his mother in West Orange, New Jersey. He later moved to Los Angeles to live with his father and stepmother, actress Shirley Jones.

The Partridge Family[edit | edit source]
Cassidy's career took off when he was cast as Keith Partridge in The Partridge Family in 1970. The show was a major hit and led to several successful albums and singles, including the number one hit "I Think I Love You". Cassidy's portrayal of Keith Partridge made him a household name and a teen idol.

In addition to his work on The Partridge Family, Cassidy had a successful solo music career. He released several albums and had numerous hit singles, including "Cherish", "Daydreamer", and "How Can I Be Sure". His concerts were highly popular, drawing large crowds of enthusiastic fans.
