David Hartsuch (born August 15, 1960) is an American politician and physician who served as a member of the Iowa Senate from 2007 to 2011. He represented the 41st district and is a member of the Republican Party.

Early life and education[edit | edit source]

Hartsuch was born in Des Moines, Iowa. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Minnesota.

Hartsuch is a practicing physician specializing in emergency medicine. He has worked in various hospitals and medical centers throughout Iowa.

Political career[edit | edit source]

Hartsuch was elected to the Iowa Senate in 2006, defeating incumbent Maggie Tinsman in the Republican primary. During his tenure, he served on several committees, including the Human Resources Committee, the Judiciary Committee, and the Ways and Means Committee.

In 2008, Hartsuch ran for the United States House of Representatives in Iowa's 1st congressional district, but was defeated by incumbent Bruce Braley.
