Dean Capobianco
Dean Capobianco (born 11 May 1970) is a retired Australian sprinter who specialized in the 200 metres and 400 metres events. He is known for his achievements in athletics during the 1990s, representing Australia in various international competitions.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Dean Capobianco was born in Western Australia. He attended Hale School in Perth, where he developed an interest in athletics. Capobianco's talent in sprinting was evident from a young age, and he quickly rose through the ranks in junior competitions.
Athletic Career[edit | edit source]
Capobianco's career took off in the early 1990s. He competed in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, where he reached the semi-finals in the 200 metres. He also represented Australia in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
In addition to his Olympic appearances, Capobianco competed in the Commonwealth Games, winning a silver medal in the 200 metres at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, Canada. He also participated in the World Championships in Athletics, where he reached the finals in the 200 metres in 1993 and 1995.

After retiring from competitive athletics, Capobianco remained involved in the sport, contributing as a coach and mentor to young athletes. He has also been active in promoting athletics in Australia.
