Defence Medical Welfare Service
Defence Medical Welfare Service (DMWS) is a charity that provides practical and emotional support to military personnel, their families, and other entitled civilians when they are receiving medical treatment. The service is available in the United Kingdom, Germany, Cyprus, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Brunei, and Nepal.

The Defence Medical Welfare Service was established in 1943 to support the British Armed Forces during the Second World War. Since then, it has provided support in various conflicts and operations around the world, including the Korean War, the Falklands War, and the Gulf War.

The DMWS provides a range of services, including bedside visits, telephone support, and assistance with practical issues such as housing and finance. The service also provides emotional support, helping individuals to cope with the stress and anxiety associated with illness or injury.
Funding[edit | edit source]
The Defence Medical Welfare Service is funded by the Ministry of Defence, as well as by donations from the public. The service also receives funding from various trusts and foundations.
