Eliseo Medina
Eliseo Medina (born 1946) is a prominent American labor union activist and leader. He is best known for his work with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and his advocacy for immigration reform in the United States.

Eliseo Medina was born in Hualahuises, Nuevo León, Mexico, and immigrated to the United States with his family at a young age. He grew up in Delano, California, where he was exposed to the struggles of farmworkers, which influenced his future career in labor activism.

United Farm Workers[edit | edit source]
Medina began his career in labor activism with the United Farm Workers (UFW) in the 1960s. He worked closely with Cesar Chavez and played a significant role in the Delano grape strike. During his time with the UFW, Medina helped to organize farmworkers and negotiate contracts that improved wages and working conditions.
Service Employees International Union[edit | edit source]
In the 1980s, Medina joined the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). He quickly rose through the ranks, becoming an international executive vice president. Medina was instrumental in expanding the union's membership, particularly among immigrant workers. He also focused on improving labor conditions and advocating for comprehensive immigration reform.
