The Endocrine Society is a professional, international medical organization in the field of endocrinology and metabolism, committed to enhancing knowledge, research, and clinical practice in the realm of endocrinology. The Endocrine Society was founded in 1916 by a group of physicians who recognized the need for a professional community dedicated to the study of the endocrine system. The society has since grown to over 18,000 members from more than 120 countries.
Mission and Vision[edit | edit source]
The mission of the Endocrine Society is to advance excellence in endocrinology and promote its essential role in scientific discovery, medical practice, and human health. The society envisions a world in which advances in endocrine science, education, and care promote optimal health and well-being.
Activities[edit | edit source]
The Endocrine Society organizes the annual ENDO meeting, the world's largest event focusing on endocrinology research and clinical care. It also publishes four peer-reviewed journals: Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, Endocrinology, Molecular Endocrinology, and Endocrine Reviews.

Membership in the Endocrine Society is open to individuals who have demonstrated interest in the field of endocrinology, including physicians, scientists, educators, nurses, and students.
Advocacy[edit | edit source]
The Endocrine Society advocates for the importance of endocrinology and the needs of endocrinologists at all levels of government and in the public sphere. This includes advocating for research funding, patient access to care, and public policies that support the practice of endocrinology.
