Eric Hansen (chess player)
Eric Hansen (born May 24, 1992) is a Canadian chess player who holds the title of Grandmaster (GM). He is one of the leading chess players in Canada and has represented his country in various international competitions.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Eric Hansen was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He began playing chess at a young age and quickly showed a talent for the game. Hansen attended the University of Texas at Dallas, where he was part of the university's strong chess program.
Chess Career[edit | edit source]
Hansen achieved the title of International Master (IM) in 2011 and was awarded the title of Grandmaster in 2013. He has competed in numerous national and international tournaments, including the Chess Olympiad, where he has represented Canada multiple times.
