Fazoli's

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

Fazoli's is an American fast casual restaurant chain headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky. It was founded in 1988 and is currently owned by Sentinel Capital Partners. Fazoli's specializes in Italian cuisine, particularly pasta, pizza, and submarine sandwiches.

History[edit | edit source]

Fazoli's was established in 1988 by Jerrico Inc., a multi-brand restaurant group based in Lexington, Kentucky, with the intention of serving fast, fresh, Italian food. The chain expanded rapidly during the 1990s, reaching a peak of approximately 400 restaurants in 26 U.S. states. In 2006, the company was sold to Sun Capital Partners, and later to Sentinel Capital Partners in 2015.

Menu[edit | edit source]

Fazoli's menu primarily consists of pasta dishes, submarine sandwiches, salads, pizza, and desserts. Some of the most popular items include their signature Spaghetti and Meatballs, Fettuccine Alfredo, and the Ultimate Spaghetti. They also offer a variety of 'Baked Pasta' dishes, which are oven-baked and topped with cheese.

Business Model[edit | edit source]

Fazoli's operates on a fast-casual dining model. This means that customers order at the counter, receive their food on a tray, and then seat themselves. This model allows for quicker service and lower operational costs than traditional sit-down restaurants.

Community Involvement[edit | edit source]

Fazoli's is known for its community involvement, particularly through its "Feed the Children" program. This initiative provides meals for children in need across the United States.
