Geography[edit | edit source]
Feøy covers an area of approximately 1.3 square kilometers. The island is characterized by its rugged coastline, rocky terrain, and sparse vegetation. The highest point on Feøy is about 40 meters above sea level. The island is surrounded by several smaller islets, which provide natural harbors and sheltered waters.
History[edit | edit source]
Feøy has a long history of human settlement, dating back to the Viking Age. Archaeological evidence suggests that the island was used as a base for fishing and maritime activities. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, Feøy was home to a small fishing community. The island's population has declined over the years, and it is now primarily used for recreational purposes.

Feøy is accessible by boat from the mainland. There are regular ferry services from the nearby town of Haugesund and other coastal communities. The island has a small network of roads and paths, but there are no cars on Feøy. Bicycles and walking are the primary means of transportation on the island.
Flora and Fauna[edit | edit source]
The island's flora is typical of the coastal regions of western Norway, with a mix of grasses, heather, and low shrubs. The surrounding waters are rich in marine life, including various species of fish, seabirds, and marine mammals. The island is a popular spot for birdwatching, particularly during the migratory seasons.
Recreation[edit | edit source]
Feøy offers a range of recreational activities, including boating, fishing, hiking, and birdwatching. The island's natural beauty and tranquil environment make it a popular destination for visitors seeking a peaceful retreat. There are several marked trails that provide scenic views of the coastline and surrounding islands.
