Float (2019 film)
Float is a 2019 American animated short film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and directed by Bobby Rubio. The film is part of the SparkShorts series, a program designed to discover new storytellers, explore new storytelling techniques, and experiment with new production workflows.

The story centers around a father who discovers that his young son has the ability to float. Initially, the father is delighted by his son's unique ability, but he soon becomes concerned about how others will perceive his son. To protect him, the father tries to keep his son's ability a secret. However, an incident at a playground forces the father to confront his fears and accept his son's differences.

Float was directed and written by Bobby Rubio, who drew inspiration from his own experiences as a father of a child with autism. The short film was produced by Krissy Cababa and features music composed by Barney Jones. Float is notable for being one of the first Pixar films to feature Filipino-American characters.

Float was released on Disney+ on November 12, 2019, as part of the initial launch lineup for the streaming service. The film received positive reviews for its heartfelt story and representation of diverse characters.
