- Franklinton is a small city located in Washington Parish, Louisiana, United States. It serves as the parish seat and is part of the New Orleans–Metairie–Kenner Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city is known for its rich history, southern charm, and the annual Washington Parish Free Fair, one of the largest free fairs in the country.

- Franklinton was established in 1819, originally under the name of Franklin. However, to avoid confusion with another town of the same name in St. Mary Parish, the city was renamed to Franklinton. The city was incorporated in 1861.
