) was a German princess and by marriage, the Duchess of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. She was born on February 16, 1751, in Darmstadt, Germany, as the daughter of Louis IX, Landgrave of Hesse-Darmstadt and Caroline of Zweibrücken. Frederica Louisa married Charles II, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz on September 18, 1768.

During her time as Duchess of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Frederica Louisa was known for her charitable works and support for education. She founded several schools and orphanages in the region, contributing to the welfare of the local community. Frederica Louisa also played a significant role in promoting the arts and culture in Mecklenburg-Strelitz.

Frederica Louisa and Charles II had several children together, including Charlotte, Princess Royal and Duchess of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Their descendants went on to have notable roles in European royalty.
