Fredrik Bajer
Fredrik Bajer (April 21, 1837 – January 22, 1922) was a Danish politician, writer, and peace activist. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1908 for his efforts in promoting peace and international arbitration.

Fredrik Bajer was born in Næstved, Denmark. He pursued his education in Copenhagen, where he developed an interest in politics and literature.
Political Career[edit | edit source]
Bajer was elected to the Danish Parliament in 1872, where he served for over two decades. He was a strong advocate for women's rights, education, and peace. His work in the parliament was instrumental in advancing social reforms in Denmark.
Peace Activism[edit | edit source]
Bajer was a prominent figure in the peace movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He co-founded the Danish Peace Society and was actively involved in the Inter-Parliamentary Union, an organization that promotes dialogue and cooperation among parliamentarians worldwide.

In 1908, Fredrik Bajer was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize along with Klas Pontus Arnoldson for their lifelong efforts in promoting peace and international arbitration. The Nobel Committee recognized their contributions to the establishment of a more peaceful world.
