Herbert Westermark

Herbert Westermark (1886–1981) was a prominent Swedish physician and military doctor known for his contributions to medicine and his service in the Swedish Navy.

Herbert Westermark was born on 15 March 1886 in Stockholm, Sweden. He pursued his medical education at the Karolinska Institute, where he graduated with a degree in medicine in 1912. His early interest in medicine was influenced by his family's background in the field.

Westermark began his medical career as a general practitioner before specializing in surgery.
