- Highland Beach is a town in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. The town is located on a barrier island, with the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the Intracoastal Waterway on the west. Highland Beach is a primarily residential community and is composed mainly of single-family homes, condominiums, and townhouses.
Geography[edit | edit source]
- Highland Beach is located at 26°23′59″N 80°04′07″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.8 km²), of which 0.5 square miles (1.3 km²) is land and 0.6 square miles (1.6 km²) (57.14%) is water.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
- As of the census of 2000, there were 3,775 people, 2,192 households, and 1,349 families residing in the town. The population density was 7,705.6 inhabitants per square mile (2,985.6/km²). There were 3,677 housing units at an average density of 7,505.5 per square mile (2,903.6/km²).
