Ho Teaching Hospital

Ho Teaching Hospital is a healthcare facility located in Ho, the capital city of the Volta Region of Ghana. The hospital serves as a referral center for other smaller healthcare facilities in the region and beyond. It is also a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Health and Allied Sciences.

The Ho Teaching Hospital was established in 1998 as a district hospital. It was upgraded to a regional hospital in 2004 and later to a teaching hospital in 2019. The hospital is managed by the Ghana Health Service.

Services[edit | edit source]

The hospital offers a wide range of medical services including General Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) services, Psychiatry, and Dentistry. It also has a well-equipped laboratory for various diagnostic tests.

The hospital has a bed capacity of 286. It has various departments and units including the Emergency Department, Outpatient Department, Inpatient Department, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Operating Theatre. The hospital also has a Pharmacy where prescribed medications are dispensed.

The Ho Teaching Hospital is affiliated with the University of Health and Allied Sciences. It serves as a training center for medical students from the university.
