ICES is an acronym for Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences, a not-for-profit research institute encompassing a community of research, data and clinical experts, and a secure and accessible array of Ontario's health-related data.

ICES is a research institute that uses population-based health information to produce knowledge on a broad range of health care issues. Their unbiased evidence provides a foundation for policymakers, planners, and practitioners to make informed decisions about health care delivery and patient care.

ICES was established in 1992, in response to the need for a comprehensive, secure and accessible data set on health care in Ontario. It was created through a partnership between the Ontario Ministry of Health, the University of Toronto, and other key stakeholders.

Research[edit | edit source]

ICES conducts research that contributes to the effectiveness, quality, equity and efficiency of health care and health services in Ontario. Their research is used to inform health policy, management, and clinical practice.

Data[edit | edit source]

ICES has access to a wide array of health-related data, including demographic, clinical, and administrative data. This data is used to conduct population-based health research.

Partnerships[edit | edit source]

ICES collaborates with a variety of partners, including government, academic institutions, health care providers, and other health research organizations.
