IL1F10
IL1F10 is a member of the interleukin-1 cytokine family. This cytokine is reported to participate in the regulation of immune and inflammatory responses. It is also known to play a role in autoimmune diseases, cancer, and various other pathological conditions.
Function[edit | edit source]
IL1F10 is a cytokine that belongs to the interleukin-1 family. It is produced by various cells, including macrophages, dendritic cells, and T cells. The cytokine is involved in the regulation of immune responses and inflammation. It can stimulate the production of other cytokines, such as interleukin-6 and interleukin-8, and enhance the expression of intercellular adhesion molecule-1 on endothelial cells.
Clinical significance[edit | edit source]
IL1F10 has been implicated in several diseases. It is overexpressed in certain types of cancer, including breast cancer and colorectal cancer, and is associated with poor prognosis. In autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis, IL1F10 levels are elevated and contribute to the inflammatory process. Furthermore, IL1F10 has been suggested as a potential therapeutic target in these diseases.
