Ian Jacobs (oncologist)

Ian Jacobs was born in Manchester, England. He pursued his medical education at the University of Cambridge, where he earned his MB BChir degree. He later completed his specialist training in obstetrics and gynecology and further specialized in gynecologic oncology.

Jacobs began his career as a consultant in gynecologic oncology at St Bartholomew's Hospital in London. He has held various academic positions, including Professor of Gynecologic Oncology at University College London (UCL). During his tenure at UCL, he was instrumental in establishing the UCL Institute for Women's Health.
In 2015, Ian Jacobs was appointed as the President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, Australia. Under his leadership, UNSW has made significant strides in research and innovation, particularly in the fields of medicine and healthcare.
