The Ibom Specialist Hospital was commissioned by the Akwa Ibom State Government in May 2015. The hospital was established with the aim of providing world-class healthcare services and reducing the need for Nigerians to travel abroad for medical treatment.

The hospital is equipped with modern medical equipment and facilities, including a Diagnostic center, Intensive Care Unit, and Surgical suite. The Diagnostic center is equipped with advanced imaging equipment such as MRI and CT scan machines. The Surgical suite is equipped for a wide range of surgical procedures, including Orthopedic surgery, Cardiothoracic surgery, and Neurosurgery.
