Isle of Wight County is a county located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 38,806. Its county seat is Isle of Wight.

Isle of Wight County was originally named Warrosquyoake Shire, a name derived from the local Native American tribe. It was one of the eight original shires of Virginia established in 1634. The name was changed to Isle of Wight County in 1637.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 363 square miles (940 km²), of which 316 square miles (820 km²) is land and 47 square miles (120 km²) (13%) is water.

As of the 2020 census, there were 38,806 people, 14,678 households, and 10,872 families residing in the county. The population density was 123 people per square mile (47/km²).

The economy of Isle of Wight County is diverse, with significant contributions from agriculture, manufacturing, and services. The county is known for its production of Smithfield ham, a type of cured ham produced in the town of Smithfield.
