Jack Perkins (born 22 August 1986) is an Australian racing driver who competes in the Supercars Championship. He is the son of Larry Perkins, a six-time winner of the Bathurst 1000.
Early life and career[edit | edit source]
Jack Perkins was born in Melbourne, Victoria, and grew up in a family with a rich motorsport heritage. His father, Larry Perkins, is a former Formula One driver and a prominent figure in Australian motorsport.
Perkins began his racing career in karting before moving up to Formula Ford and then the Supercars Championship. He made his debut in the Supercars Championship in 2006.
Supercars Championship[edit | edit source]
Perkins has competed in the Supercars Championship for several teams, including Perkins Engineering, Kelly Racing, and Erebus Motorsport. His best season finish came in 2014 when he finished 15th in the championship standings.
In addition to his full-time racing career, Perkins has also served as a co-driver in the Enduro Cup, partnering with various drivers for the endurance races, including the Bathurst 1000.
Personal life[edit | edit source]
Jack Perkins was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2007, which has influenced his racing career. Despite this, he has continued to compete at a high level and is an advocate for diabetes awareness.
