Jacob Ljunglöf (1798–1865) was a prominent Swedish tobacco manufacturer and entrepreneur. He is best known for founding the tobacco company Ljunglöfs Snus, which became one of the leading producers of snus in Sweden.

Jacob Ljunglöf was born in 1798 in Stockholm, Sweden. He grew up in a family with a strong tradition in the tobacco industry, which significantly influenced his career path.

In 1822, Jacob Ljunglöf took over his father's tobacco business. Under his leadership, the company expanded significantly. He introduced new production techniques and focused on improving the quality of snus, a moist powder tobacco product that is placed under the upper lip.

Ljunglöfs Snus[edit | edit source]

Ljunglöf's most notable contribution to the tobacco industry was the creation of Ljunglöfs Ettan, a brand of snus that became extremely popular in Sweden. The name "Ettan" means "number one" in Swedish, reflecting Ljunglöf's ambition to produce the highest quality snus.

Jacob Ljunglöf's innovations in the production of snus had a lasting impact on the Swedish tobacco industry. His company, Ljunglöfs Snus, continued to thrive long after his death in 1865, maintaining a reputation for quality and excellence.
