Jeffrey Scott Flier is an American physician, endocrinologist, and researcher. He is best known for his work in the fields of diabetes and obesity. Flier served as the 21st Dean of the Harvard Medical School from 2007 to 2016.

Flier was born in New York City. He received his undergraduate degree from City College of New York and his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

After completing his medical training, Flier joined the faculty at Harvard Medical School and became a prominent figure in the field of endocrinology. His research has focused on the molecular mechanisms of insulin action and the pathogenesis of diabetes and obesity.

Flier's research has significantly contributed to the understanding of leptin and its role in body weight regulation. He has published numerous articles in leading scientific journals and has been recognized for his contributions to medical science.
