Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams
Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams is an artisan ice cream company based in Columbus, Ohio, United States. Founded by Jeni Britton Bauer in 2002, the company has gained national recognition for its innovative flavors and quality ingredients.
History[edit | edit source]
Jeni Britton Bauer started Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams in 2002, following the closure of her previous ice cream venture, Scream. Bauer's approach to ice cream, which involves using whole ingredients and dairy from grass-pastured cows, quickly set Jeni's apart from other ice cream companies.
Products[edit | edit source]
Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams offers a variety of unique flavors, including Brambleberry Crisp, Brown Butter Almond Brittle, and Gooey Butter Cake. The company also offers dairy-free and vegan options. All of Jeni's ice creams are made without synthetic flavorings, dyes, or off-the-shelf mixes.
Recognition[edit | edit source]
Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams has received numerous awards and accolades for its products. In 2012, Bauer's cookbook, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams at Home, won a James Beard Foundation Award. The company has also been featured in national media outlets such as The New York Times, Time, and Food & Wine.
Expansion[edit | edit source]
Since its founding, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams has expanded to include scoop shops in multiple cities across the United States, including Nashville, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Charleston. The company's products are also sold in grocery stores nationwide and through its online store.
