History[edit | edit source]

After his death in 1857, his son Alexander Walker and grandson Alexander Walker II expanded the business. The brand's iconic square bottle was introduced in 1860, which helped reduce breakages during transport. The slanted label, introduced in 1870, allowed for larger text and made the brand more recognizable.
