Jonah Shacknai

Jonah Shacknai was born in 1957 in New York City. He grew up in a family that valued education and public service. Shacknai attended Columbia University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in political science. He later pursued a law degree at Georgetown University Law Center.

Shacknai began his career in law, working as an attorney in Washington, D.C. He specialized in health policy and regulatory affairs. His expertise in these areas led him to serve as a senior partner at a prominent law firm.
Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation[edit | edit source]
In 1988, Shacknai founded Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation, a company focused on dermatological and aesthetic pharmaceuticals. Under his leadership, Medicis became a leading company in the field, known for products such as Restylane and Dysport. Shacknai served as the company's CEO and chairman until its acquisition by Valeant Pharmaceuticals in 2012.
