Judith Ellen Light (born February 9, 1949) is an American actress and producer. She is known for her extensive work in television, theater, and film.

Judith Light was born in Trenton, New Jersey. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in drama.

Television[edit | edit source]
Light's breakthrough role came in 1977 when she joined the cast of the daytime soap opera One Life to Live as Karen Wolek. Her performance earned her two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
She gained further recognition for her role as Angela Bower in the popular sitcom Who's the Boss?, which aired from 1984 to 1992. Light's portrayal of Angela Bower, a successful advertising executive, was widely praised.
In recent years, Light has appeared in several critically acclaimed television series, including Transparent, for which she received multiple Primetime Emmy Award nominations, and The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.

Light has had a distinguished career in theater. She made her Broadway debut in the 1975 revival of A Doll's House. She won two Tony Awards for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her performances in Other Desert Cities (2012) and The Assembled Parties (2013).
