Kathleen M. Sutcliffe is a prominent organizational theorist and scholar known for her extensive research in the fields of organizational behavior, organizational resilience, and high-reliability organizations. She is currently a professor at the Johns Hopkins University.

Kathleen M. Sutcliffe received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Michigan. She later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the same institution. Sutcliffe earned her Ph.D. in Management and Organization from the University of Texas at Austin.

Academic Career[edit | edit source]

Sutcliffe began her academic career as an assistant professor at the University of Minnesota. She later joined the faculty at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, where she held various positions, including the Gilbert and Ruth Whitaker Professor of Business Administration. In 2014, she joined the Johns Hopkins University as a Bloomberg Distinguished Professor.
