Kisra, also known as Khosrow I, was the king of the Sassanian Empire from 531 to 579 AD. He was one of the most influential rulers of the empire and played a significant role in shaping its history.

Kisra was born in 501 AD in the city of Istakhr, which was the capital of the Sassanian Empire at that time. He belonged to the House of Sasan, the ruling dynasty of the empire. His father, Kavadh I, was also a prominent ruler of the empire.

Kisra ascended to the throne in 531 AD after the death of his father. During his reign, he implemented various reforms and policies that aimed to strengthen the empire both internally and externally.
