Krystal
Krystal is an American fast food restaurant chain headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. It is known for its small, square hamburgers with fresh-steamed buns, hot-off-the-grill. Other Krystal favorites include chili cheese fries and milkshakes.
History[edit | edit source]
Krystal was founded in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1932 by Rody Davenport Jr. and his partner J. Glenn Sherrill. They were inspired by the success of White Castle and sought to create a similar fast food chain in the South. The name "Krystal" was coined by Davenport's wife, who thought the product should be crystal clear in its quality.
Menu[edit | edit source]
Krystal's menu features a variety of items, from burgers and hot dogs to chicken sandwiches and breakfast items. The signature item is the Krystal Burger, a small square hamburger patty with onions, mustard, and a dill pickle slice on a steamed bun. Other popular items include the Chik, a chicken sandwich, and the Pup, a small hot dog.
Locations[edit | edit source]
As of 2020, Krystal operates more than 300 restaurants in the Southern U.S. states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
