Lisa J. Ling (born August 30, 1973) is an American journalist, television presenter, and author. She is best known for her role as a co-host on the daytime talk show The View and as the host of Our America with Lisa Ling on the Oprah Winfrey Network.

Lisa Ling was born in Sacramento, California, to parents Doug Ling and Mary Ling. She has a younger sister, Laura Ling, who is also a journalist. Lisa attended Del Campo High School in Fair Oaks, California, and later enrolled at the University of Southern California, although she did not complete her degree.

Early career[edit | edit source]
Ling began her career in journalism at the age of 18 when she joined Channel One News as one of their youngest reporters. During her time at Channel One, she covered significant events such as the Afghanistan civil war and the Iraq conflict.

In 1999, Ling joined the daytime talk show The View as a co-host, where she worked alongside Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, and others. She remained with the show until 2002, gaining recognition for her insightful commentary and journalistic integrity.
