List of Portuguese food and drink products with protected status
List of Portuguese Food and Drink Products with Protected Status refers to the array of Portuguese culinary items that have been granted a protected designation of origin (PDO), protected geographical indication (PGI), or traditional speciality guaranteed (TSG) status under the European Union's quality schemes. These labels ensure that only products genuinely originating in that region are allowed to be marketed as such, safeguarding the reputation of regional foods, promoting rural and agricultural activity, and helping producers obtain a premium price for their authentic products.
Protected Designation of Origin (PDO)[edit | edit source]
