List of Cardiology Mnemonics
Cardiology mnemonics are memory aids used by medical professionals and students to remember various aspects of cardiology, including anatomy, physiology, pathology, and treatment protocols. These mnemonics simplify complex information into easily recallable phrases or acronyms.

- RALS: Right Anterior, Left Superior - Describes the relationship of the pulmonary artery to the bronchus at the hilum of the lungs.
- SALT: Sinoatrial node, Atrioventricular node, Left bundle branch, and Right bundle branch - Key components of the heart's conduction system.
Physiology[edit | edit source]
- ABCDE: Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Disability, Exposure - A primary survey used in the initial assessment of a patient.
- MONA: Morphine, Oxygen, Nitrates, Aspirin - Initial treatment for patients with suspected myocardial infarction.
Pathology[edit | edit source]
- CHAPS: Chest pain, Hypertension, Arrhythmias, Palpitations, Syncope - Common symptoms of cardiovascular disease.
- SAD: Syncope, Angina, Dyspnea - Symptoms of aortic stenosis.
Treatment Protocols[edit | edit source]
- LMNOP: Lasix (Furosemide), Morphine, Nitrates, Oxygen, Position (upright) - Management of acute pulmonary edema.
- ABCDE: Aspirin, Beta-blockers, Cholesterol-lowering agents, Diet, Exercise - Secondary prevention of myocardial infarction.
